Riftbound Announces World Showcase in Shanghai

Riftbound has revealed the details for its inaugural competitive season conclusion, the World Showcase. Scheduled for January 22-23, 2027, in Shanghai, China, the event will crown the first Riftbound World Champion.

The tournament features a unique format involving the upcoming Legacy set. Although Legacy is not scheduled for general release until January 29, competitors will receive the complete card list two weeks before the event. This early access allows players to prepare with the new cards before community previews are finalized.

Deckbuilding requirements for the Showcase are strict. Players must register and compete with three separate constructed decks that contain no overlapping Domains. During the nine rounds of Swiss play, competitors will rotate through these three decks, using Deck A for rounds 1-3, Deck B for rounds 4-6, and Deck C for rounds 7-9.

The prize pool stands at $100,000 USD. In addition to the monetary rewards, competitors will receive an all expenses paid trip to China and a premium goodie bag. High-ranking players will also receive exclusive serialized English promos numbered 1 through 24, based on their final standings.
